Story Lab: Advice to Writers

I used this same lab a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoyed the mini advice that was given. Therefore I decided to do this lab once again to look into more advice to not only help other writers but advance my writing skills as well. The Fun Part I found this little bit to be quite important. Sometimes we can find writing to be a little dreadful. It could be because we have no thoughts flowing or because we are writing about something we are uninterested in. On the contrary, looking to find a comfy outfit or cup of hot coffee, or even a spot by a window can make all of these dreadful aspects turn into fun and comfort. It's Never Too Late When writing anything, sometimes we wonder if it is too late to make corrections or even start over. In fact, it is never too late. If something doesn't feel right fix it! The useless days will add up to something This was one of the first ones that stood out to me because I find this to not only be important in a writer's life but just life in general. This is important to understand because sometimes we go through a day and realize that it was full of meaningless tasks and feel as though the day was a waste of time. Rather than looking at it from this perspective, realizing that everything we do happens for a reason and that it is a stepping stone to important parts of our life will be eye-opening. There are no Rules This quote stood out to me because in society we are bound by rules. Or so we think. Stepping out of our comfort zones and doing what we feel is right and what makes us happy can reflect positively in

Week 11 Story

There once was a girl named Katie. Katie lived with her mom in the state of Texas. She and her mom bickered more often than not. Katie's dad on the other hand had moved away back when she was a baby to London, England to pursue a dental career there. Katie dreamed of living with her father and listening to the mesmerizing accents of all of the locals. The only issue was....Katie's mom would never allow her to move away....especially to a whole other country. As Katie grew older she began to act out more, yearning for her mother's attention. Her mother would think of as many punishments as possible. Taking her phone away, grounding her, and even the thought of sending her to boarding school. Katie feared all of these punishments, but there was one punishment that Katie was not prepared to hear. One day her mom got so angry she yelled "I will send you to live with your father!" In her mind Katie was ecstatic, but she could not let her mother know of that. She
