Week 11 Story

       There once was a girl named Katie. Katie lived with her mom in the state of Texas. She and her mom bickered more often than not. Katie's dad on the other hand had moved away back when she was a baby to London, England to pursue a dental career there. Katie dreamed of living with her father and listening to the mesmerizing accents of all of the locals. The only issue was....Katie's mom would never allow her to move away....especially to a whole other country. As Katie grew older she began to act out more, yearning for her mother's attention. Her mother would think of as many punishments as possible. Taking her phone away, grounding her, and even the thought of sending her to boarding school. Katie feared all of these punishments, but there was one punishment that Katie was not prepared to hear. One day her mom got so angry she yelled "I will send you to live with your father!" Reading: Jataka Tales Part B

  For this week's reading, I have chosen to read the Jataka Tales retold by Ellen C. Babbitt. I am going to write up some notes over part B today. The Elephant Girly Face there was a king who had an elephant he named it girly face because it was so kind, good, and gentle one night some robbers came by to the area where girly face slept they spoke of how they were going to break in and kill someone they said that robbers so no mercy or pity and are cruel as girly face heard this he thought that this is the way that he should be acting the next morning when the keeper came to feed girly face he picked him up by his trunk and killed him another keeper came to help and girly face killed him as well no one dared to go by girly face anymore the king knew something was up he found out that girly face was listening to bad men talk he decided to send some good men so that he would overhear them talking and become good once again after he overheard the good men talking about being gentle and...

Reading Notes: Jataka Tales Part A

 For this week's reading, I have chosen to read the Jataka Tales retold by Ellen C. Babbitt. I am going to write up some notes over part A today. How the Turtle Saved his Own Life: A king once made a pond for his children to swim and play in one day he decided to put some fish in the pond as well as a turtle the boys had never seen a turtle and thought it was a demon the boys ran back to their father crying to kill it the king sent out his men to capture this demon they were planning many horrendous ways to kill the turtle one man said to throw it into the lake and then it shall drown once the turtle heard this he questioned why they would ever do such a thing the men at once threw him into the lake the turtle laughed and lived a good life in the water The Merchant of Seri: there was a merchant of Seri who sold brass and tinware there was a second merchant who was very greedy when they would arrive at towns they would split up and sell all they could the greedy merchant passed a ho...
