I used this same lab a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoyed the mini advice that was given. Therefore I decided to do this lab once again to look into more advice to not only help other writers but advance my writing skills as well.
The useless days will add up to something
This was one of the first ones that stood out to me because I find this to not only be important in a writer's life but just life in general. This is important to understand because sometimes we go through a day and realize that it was full of meaningless tasks and feel as though the day was a waste of time. Rather than looking at it from this perspective, realizing that everything we do happens for a reason and that it is a stepping stone to important parts of our life will be eye-opening.
There are no Rules
This quote stood out to me because in society we are bound by rules. Or so we think. Stepping out of our comfort zones and doing what we feel is right and what makes us happy can reflect positively in writing aspects and in life in general. I liked how it said that many writers fear what critiques might say and how they will be corrected by what the "rules" are. But if you step outside of those boundaries the imagination and ideas that one may come up with are not only unique but limitless as well.
Give them what they're not expecting
This seemed like a given. People tend to enjoy stories that have no predictability to them. This keeps the readers interested and on their toes. This is honestly the truth we read so many things that have the same storyline as the previous thing that we read. This is why there are only a few classics or great reads because they keep the reader grabbed and truly throw them in for a whirlwind. It may seem hard to be creative, but even taking an unoriginal storyline and adding some crazy spins could be the solution.
