Storybook Plan

For my storybook topic, I want to write about the Goddess of Contagion. After looking back at your feedback to me from last week I felt inspired to narrow it down to a couple of ideas. I definitely want to incorporate the pandemic into my storybook, but now I feel like an interesting take could be to incorporating that as well as the characters from Harry Potter. I want to take inspiration from many different articles so that I can have as much knowledge about this topic as possible. I looked into the links that you provided and I think a lot of them could be great resources for my topic. These are some of the sources that I would like to use to further my research not only about the topic but further on how Harry Potter characters could fit into my story. 1.  Goddess of Contagion 2.  Matrikas 3.  Parvati 4.  Poppy Pomfrey 5.  Devi Stories about the Goddess of Contagion: 1.  Story 1 2.  Story 2 3.  Story 3 My idea for carrying out my story a...

Topic Research

The storybook that I want to further look into is  Goddess of Contagion . This storybook has stood out to me since the very beginning. One of the many reasons why I believe it has held my attention is because I am studying to hopefully one day become a doctor so with everything going on right now and a goddess who can help cure people is super intriguing to me. I also love how the author took a traditional story and turned it into a story that is very applicable to today's world. This story circles around the goddess Amman who is known as the goddess of rain or the goddess of contagion. This storybook focuses on taking these traditional gods and goddesses and transforming them into people form. I really like this because sometimes it can be hard for people to keep track of who each god/goddess is and what they stand for and sometimes simplifying it can make the story much easier to follow. The interesting thing about this goddess is that she is able to cure illness but also i...

Topic Brainstorm

I chose to look back over the storybooks that initially caught my attention and recall why they in fact did catch my attention. Using that initial attraction made me want to further learning about these traditional stories and add my own style to them. My four possible topics to write my storybook over include: To Love and To Lose . This storybook attracted my attention because as I have mentioned many times before I find myself always drawn to anything that has to do with love. So initially the title is what grabbed my attention. I am not very familiar with any Indian epics so all of these are new to me. Another thing I like about this story is that not only does it have to do with love, but loss as well which adds drama. Adding drama to a story in my opinion keeps me a lot more engaged and I feel like I could put a fun twist on it. I am excited to learn more about how Hidimbi chose love over blood and how this broke her heart and caused her to lose everything. I am also interest...
