- she had placed her son in the village school
- this schoolwas full of hopefuls who came from good families and were destined to do great things
- once the kids were talking about what they ate at home
- all the weathly kids explained that they had plenty of fish to eat
- while the poor son only ate vegtables
- he bagan to cry and went home asking his mother why everyone ate so good while all they ate was vegtables
- the mothers explained that that was all that she could afford for their family so they would not starve
- he was a spoiled child and demanded that they eat better food
- he told her if she could not get it for them, then he would get it himself
- he stayed true to his word
- that night she saw a dead gander as he was preparing to cook it for dinner
- she was terrified
- she didn't want to say anything to upset him
- thenext morning the kingsmen realized a gander was missing
- they sought out to find it
- they found feathers by the widows house
- they captured the boy and the king sentenced him to imprisonment

- so she did the same in hopes to save her son
- the goddess was pleased with this widow and agreed to help
- she appeared in the castle and persuaded the king to release the son of one of her worshippers
