Reading Notes: Stories of Indian Gods and Heroes: Rama and Sita Part B

This week I chose to do the one-week reading over the Ramayana, specifically about Rama and Sita. I will be reading the part B section today and writing some notes over that.

During his banishment, Rama made the most of it exploring with his wife Sita
One day Lakshman spotted Bharat with his army coming to save Rama and tell him his exile was over
Lakshman was filled with anger
Rama wanted to abide by his promise to stay in exile and felt no reason to return
Rama was told that he should return and be the king
he was told about the death of his father and he had never felt so much sadness in his life
it was a though all the trees were cut off by axes.
he still did not want to return
they decided to hold a funeral for the spirit of his father in the forest
Rama continued to keep his promise even when speaking in private with his brother that he would not return and take the throne
A brahman came down to tell Rama that words said by the dead are no longer bounded once they pass
Rama still did not give in
10 years had passed and everything was going smoothly for Rama and Sita
Ravana was overwhelmed with all of his failures
he grabbed his sword and ran to the Ashoka grove
he screamed on and on about how Sita did all of these malicious things
He promised to kill her himself
Sita sat calmly and prepared for her death
She regretted not letting Hanuman take her away
she blamed herself
an honorable rakshasa named Suparshva restrained Ravana
He was told that Sita is not his enemy and his enemy is on the battlefield
So finally Ravana went to go challenge Rama himself

Introduction to the not so Fabulous Life of Luda

Hi first off I would like to introduce myself. My name is Luda....just like the rapper Ludacris. I am a biology pre-med major and I think the coolest thing about my major would have to be that hopefully one day I can not only potentially save lives, but at least make an impact in someone's life. Last semester the best class that I took would have to be biology 2 (yes ironic), but I really do enjoy learning about all different types of biology and learning about how the body functions from something as small as the firing of a neuron and I'm excited to dive deeper into those things this semester. Week 7 Story

In the world of highschool popularity, only some could join the crowd. You either have to know the right crowd or have the right looks. At Montclair High School there were three girls in particular that everyone was afraid of and most definitely did not want to cross. Their names were Regina George, Karen Smith and, Gretchen Wieners. During their senior year, a new girl who no one knew, but caught everyone's attention came to town and her name was Cady Heron. She so desperately wanted to find true friends and a group that she could fit into. She tried everything in her power to try and fit in with these mean girls, she even tried to sit at their table at lunch. They had a ritual in which they would pink on Wednesdays.
