 Summary of Tiny Tales 51-100


        68. LAKSHMANA CHASES A BOAR

  • Lakshmana had tracked a wild boar through the woods
  • he tried to strike the boar but in fact, missed
  • he accidentally cut off the head of an ascetic, who was silently meditating
  • Lakshmana cried for what he did
  • then Indra appeared
  • Indra informed Lakshmana that the ascetic was meditating to gain the power to destroy Indra
  • Indra used the boar to lure Lakshmana to in fact kill the ascetic
  • then Indra disappears
        70.  SITA AND RAMA WANDER THE FOREST
  • one day sita and Rama traveled from camp
  • it was a very hot day
  • Rama offered to carry Sita
  • Sweat dripped from both of them on the ground
  • They noticed from their sweat saplings had grown
  • The saplings continued to grow and they noticed they began to bore fruit
  • Sita's were green fruits and Rama's were red fruit
  • They called them Sita-fruit and Rama-fruit
  • These fruits continue to grow in India today!
        71. INDRA TESTS LAKSHMANA
  • Indra wanted to test Lakshmana
  • So he sent a beautiful apsara to test him
  • Lakshmana chased her away
  • some of her hair was left behind on Lakshmana's clothes
  • Later Sita noticed some. of the hair and teased Lakshmana that he had found a new woman
  • Lakshmana proceeded to jump into the fire and did not burn
  • This proved his loyalty to his wife Urmila
        91. ANOTHER STORY OF HANUMAN
  • Anjana was an apsara
  • She was cursed to be sent to earth as a monkey
  • A shape-shifting monkey of many forms
  • Anjana put on a human form and walked across a mountaintop
  • Vayu, the wind-god spotted her and was captivated by her beauty
  • He introduced himself and told her he loved her
  • he told her she will bear his son
  • So she gave birth to Hanuman, the monkey-son of Vayu the wind-god
        93.  WHEN HANUMAN WAS HUNGRY
  • Hanuman's mother was Anjana
  • When he was born she left him in a forest
  • He grew to be very very hungry
  • One day he saw something he thought to be a mango in the sky
  • he flew up to try to reach it to eat
  • Then he realized it was the sun
  • Indra the storm god grew very angry and struck him with a bolt
  • He fell and broke his jaw
  • This is how he got the name Hanuman, Big-Jaw

Week 7 Story

 In the world of highschool popularity, only some could join the crowd. You either have to know the right crowd or have the right looks. At Montclair High School there were three girls in particular that everyone was afraid of and most definitely did not want to cross. Their names were Regina George, Karen Smith and, Gretchen Wieners. During their senior year, a new girl who no one knew, but caught everyone's attention came to town and her name was Cady Heron. She so desperately wanted to find true friends and a group that she could fit into. She tried everything in her power to try and fit in with these mean girls, she even tried to sit at their table at lunch. They had a ritual in which they would pink on Wednesdays. Cady was unaware of this and tried to join their lunch table on a Wednesday. They smirked and told her "we wear pink on Wednesdays, you can't sit with us."
